Sweety Day

Sweety Day

Most people like to have ‘tea’ on a Sunday evening. You have a roast dinner instead of ‘lunch’ and then have cake and muffins or whatever for tea. My family have certainly always done it and we’ve always called it ‘Cakes-for-tea-day’. The other specially named day in our house is Friday. Friday is ‘Sweety Day’ and has always been the one day of the week that we have chocolates and sweets. I have decided to immortalise these two days in a poem.

Sweety Day

Friday is Sweety Day
Every Friday
Has been for years

Bring on the chocolates
And sweeties
To hoots and to cheers

Sunday’s Cakes-For-Tea Day
Every Sunday
Will be for life

Bring on the baked goods
And crumpets
To man and to wife

The perfect alternative to a social life every Friday night
